Available Dogs

Rescues are dogs who have been found as strays
or turned into local shelters. They are usually
healthy, loving dogs who would make great pets.
Before being placed they are evaluated for
health and temperament, spayed or neutered, and
vaccinated. Often these are dogs whose former
owners did not learn enough about the breed
before purchasing a cute, fluffy puppy. When
the dog grew into an active, intelligent,
independent adult, they chose to surrender the
dog instead of giving him/her the training and
discipline necessary to make a well-adjusted
member of the family.

Rehomes are dogs needing placement in new homes. Often they are younsters who did not develop into show or breeding stock or dogs whose owners can no longer keep them but are unwilling to place them in rescue. Their history is known, they are up-to-date on shots, and are spayed or neutered. The owner may be charging a fee for the dog.

Please note we take no responsibility for the dogs listed here and have not screened all the animals listed on the site. It is the adopter's responsibility to fully investigate the dog in question. We will list an owner surrendered dog or rehome that is not being taken in to foster care by us. We would appreciate a small donation to help offset our costs for the website, our time and any long distance charges we may incur. We are always ready to help but lack funds.

The following Siberians and Siberian mixes are available for immediate adoption. For further information contact us at

"Laying at my feet is Kuna, a 10 1/2 year old, neutered male. That believe it or not, is with me because he was an owner release after 10 1/2 years. When he was owner released, it looks like by his registration that he was with the same owner all of his life. He has been shuffled around the country, based on his health records that came with him, but in the last 3 months, he has been in the Multinohma Co Animal Control (Portland, OR area), a general dog rescue in Kent, WA. Kuna is a VERY, VERY Sweet, but a bit of a mouth....and definitely wants to be a house dog.... He says that being in a kennel is for the birds.... So we are attempting to get him into a home that will keep him until the end of his days."

Belle: is a special dog who needs a special home.

Born in the wild near Squamish, British Columbia, Belle was taken from the woods at about 5-7 months of age along with her litter sister. Her sister died but Belle survived. She then spent almost two years in the pound so has missed out on some very im-portant socializing.
Belle is a striking red-white Siberian Husky cross, about 7 years old. She is a fantastically athletic dog who trots in a smooth, easy flowing gait. We have had Sibes for over 30 years and Belle is the fastest "Husky" we have seen. At full speed, without effort she can clear a distance of ten feet.
An extremely clever, curious dog, she loves to learn. When we first got her, she wouldn't eat or drink for three days. She would just cower and shake at the back of her pen. She now knows the basic obedience commands: sit, down, come, stay (within reason) and rudimentary heeling. She will also give you one paw, other paw; spin in both directions, wave with either paw and bows. She also understands "mark" when you guide her to the grooming table, tree stump... (i.e.go to a higher place).
Time, love, repetition of exercises and the help of a caring, skilled dog trainer have turned Belle into a fun dog who has the confidence and willingness to learn. Her trainer has been teaching her to go over jumps, to weave and to back up. Belle has untapped potential.

Belle needs: someone with patience, love, energy and dog-training skills to develop her talents. She now loves to be hugged by her "Mom" and is going up to other female visitors to lick their hands. She is more fearful of men.
Belle definitely needs a securely fenced enclosure and cannot be let off-leash to run.
She likes our male dog doesn't like our female. She is not people aggressive but has not been socialized with children.

Reason for Rehoming:
Her present owners are seniors who have each developed serious health problems.

Carcajou was raised by Doug since he is a puppy and spent a year in the house after he broke a leg as a puppy. Therefore he is very special to Doug. He is perfectly healed now and has been a sleddog all his life. He is a 5 year old very enthousiastic happy dog (unnutured) but his heavier build makes it a bit hard do keep up with our fast alaskan huskies and besides Carcajou would be a wonderful pet. Carcajou listens pretty well and has never left the immediate surroundings of the house when he is loose. He also bravely went to try and sniff a big grizzly boar in the yard and certainly woke us up for the show. Luckily this was a very mellow bear that let him come almost nose to nose without showing any aggression.... Carcajou is very affectionnate and gets along well with other dogs but like a lot of unnutured males he may be aggressive with other males. He would probably be happier in his new life as a nutured dog. He is initially a little bit shy with strangers but bonds after he gets to know them. He is definitively an energetic dog and would be most happy on a rural setting and with lots of outdoor activities. He would be a strong pack dog a great hiking and backpacking companion and could also be trained for skijoring.
